Train from Split to Sibenik is one of the most popular train routes connecting two of the biggest Dalmatian cities<\/strong>. The route is operated by Hrvatske \u017deljeznice<\/strong> with 6 daily departures during the weekdays and 4 daily departures during the weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The train departs from Split Main Train Station<\/strong>, located close to the city centre of Split, right next to the main bus station and the ferry port. The train arrives at Sibenik Main Train Station<\/strong>, located several minutes from the city centre, right next to Sibenik ferry port. The train also makes a stop at up to 21 more locations along the way, depending on the departure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE:<\/strong> On the route from Split to Sibenik, passengers need to change the train at Perkovic train station<\/strong>. The waiting time to board the second train usually lasts up to 5 minutes. On a few departures, the waiting time can last up to 3 hours and 40 minutes, so it is always good to check this prior to your departure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of Trains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are in total 3 types of trains operating the train route Split – Sibenik, a regular train<\/strong>, a fast train <\/strong>and InterCity (IC) train<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to remember that on all departures, you change to a regular train at Perkovic train station <\/strong>in order to continue to Sibenik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 4 daily departures on weekdays and 2 daily departures on weekends where regular trains <\/strong>travel the entire route from Split to Sibenik. These trains are only 2nd class trains <\/strong>with no option of transporting vehicles <\/strong>and no reservations required<\/strong>. You still need to change the train at Perkovic train station, but the waiting time is in most cases up to 5 minutes. The total journey takes approximately 1.5 hour. In the case of one departure, the waiting time is 1.5 hour and the total journey takes around 3 hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is one morning departure from Split to Sibenik by InterCity (IC) train <\/strong>which is actually a train from Split to Zagreb<\/a>. Although this train has 1st and 2nd class and offers an option of transporting bicycles, at Perkovic station, you change to a regular train<\/strong>. The waiting time is 3h and 40min. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also one evening departure with a fast train <\/strong>which is actually a <\/b>night train from Split to Zagreb<\/strong>. Although this train is equipped with sleeping and couchette cars and offers an option of transporting cars, at Perkovic station, you change to a regular train<\/strong>. The waiting time is up to 5 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On departures where you travel the entire route with a regular train<\/strong>, the price of a single ticket is about 45 HRK (~\u20ac6). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On departures where the InterCity (IC) train<\/strong> operates the first part of the route, the price of a single ticket for the 2nd class is about 63 HRK (~\u20ac8). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On departures where the fast train<\/strong> operates the first part of the route, the price of a single ticket for the 2nd class is about 52 HRK (~\u20ac7). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children between the age of 6 and 12, students and seniors have a 50% discount while youth between the age of 12 and 26 have a 30% discount.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If looking for the fastest and easiest way to travel this route<\/strong>, then consider taking a bus from Split to Sibenik<\/a>. Tickets start from \u20ac6 <\/strong>and there are over 30 daily departures. The journey takes about 1.5 hour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE:<\/strong> In some cases, passengers who bought a train ticket might be transferred by bus instead<\/strong>, <\/b>either some part or the entire route. This happens when a certain part of the railway on the route is under construction, which is highly influenced by the air temperature. Summer heats can cause the railway to extend which leads to malfunctions, while extremely low temperatures in winter shrink the railway which can lead to breakage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
