The railway connection in Croatia stopped in Split, although there were once plans for expanding it further to Dubrovnik.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the only railway route in South Dalmatia is <strong>Ploce &#8211; Sarajevo<\/strong>, further connecting cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>the easiest and fastest way <\/strong>of travelling this route is taking a <a href=\"https:\/\/getbybus.com\/en\/bus-dubrovnik-to-plitvice-lakes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bus from Dubrovnik to Plitvice Lakes<\/a>. <strong>Tickets start from \u20ac36 <\/strong>and there are up to 2 daily departures. The journey takes approximately 9 hours. Buses depart from the <a href=\"https:\/\/getbybus.com\/en\/bus-from-dubrovnik\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">main bus station in Dubrovnik<\/a> which is located about 4 km from the city centre. Buses make a stop at the <a href=\"https:\/\/getbybus.com\/en\/bus-from-plitvice-lakes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plitvice Lakes bus stations<\/a> at Korenica and Mukinje bus stops.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to travel at least a part of this route by train, this is the most convenient way to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. In order to get from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traincroatia.com\/en\/dubrovnik-split\/\">Dubrovnik to Split<\/a>, you will need to take a bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. From Split, you can <strong>travel by train to Knin<\/strong>, since only from there you can take a direct bus to Plitvice Lakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Take a direct <a href=\"https:\/\/getbybus.com\/en\/bus-knin-to-plitvice-lakes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bus from Knin to Plitvice Lakes<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>You may notice the railway route from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traincroatia.com\/en\/split-zagreb\/\">Split to Zagreb<\/a> passes through <strong>Rudopolje<\/strong> and <strong>Vrhovine<\/strong> train stops which are the closest train stations to Plitvice Lakes, but they <strong>do not provide a further connection by bus<\/strong>, which is a distance of 40 km.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is no train from Dubrovnik to Plitvice Lakes.
