The signing ceremony of the Agreement on the purchase and sale of 21 electric trains <\/strong>was held. The contract was signed between H\u017d Putni\u010dki prijevoz (Croatian Railways) <\/strong>and KON\u010cAR Electric Vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new trains are financed from the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 <\/strong>within the project Renovation of the H\u017d Passenger Transport <\/strong>fleet with new electric trains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this project, H\u017dPP <\/strong>continues to modernize its fleet with 11 electric trains for urban-suburban and 10 electric trains for regional transport, which will provide passengers with greater comfort, provide greater capacity and more reliable transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total value of the Purchase Agreement is HRK 844.7 million (excluding VAT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a very important project for the development of modern railway transport, said Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovi\u0107<\/strong>, adding that by 2023, travel time will be reduced and travel more comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for infrastructure projects, Plenkovi\u0107 says the plan is to invest about three billion euros in railways in the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completion of the lowland railway Rijeka-Zagreb-Botovo, the entire route of Corridor 10 from Zagreb to Vinkovci and Tovarnik. The modernization and electrification of the Zapre\u0161i\u0107 – Zabok railway is expected to be completed in the next three years. There is also the railway Dugo Selo – Kri\u017eevci, the construction of the second track on the section Kri\u017eevci – Koprivnica – state border. There is also the Vinkovci – Vukovar railway, etc. It is about 165 kilometers of new railways. <\/p>Plenkovi\u0107<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This project has been prepared for a long time. The real effect for the budget and the economy will be visible on this project. Trains run up to 160 km\/h, but the question is in what condition the tracks are and at what speed they will be able to run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have the railroads, we don’t have everything renovated. We are doing it now. Such speeds are developing on the Zagreb – Sisak line. By 2030, I believe we will solve the railway issue, these are big projects, but that is why we are here to do it.<\/p>Butkovi\u0107<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
